Bicycle Rodeos for elementary and middle school students
Get the kids to expend lots of energy without wasting a drop of fossil fuel. And teach them some important traffic safety lessons while they are having fun. Those are some of the ideas behind the Club's promotion of Bicycle Rodeos for elementary and middle school students.
The Club will assist PTAs, local police, scout groups and other community organizations in sponsoring rodeos that allow youngsters to practice and develop skills they will need to avoid typical bike crashes. Often held at a convenient playground, gymnasium, cordoned-off parking lot or other traffic-free area, these rodeos also provide opportunities for trained bike technicians to check bicycle equipment and helmets.
